HEALTH & SAFETY
We are proud of our Health and safety culture and Lawson Group’s excellent record speaks for itself.
Health and Safety
Our health and safety planning is a comprehensively crafted framework that adheres to a multitude of regulations and standards to ensure the utmost safety of our operations. Prior to commencing any project, we adhere to the guidelines outlined in several key regulations and standards, including the:
Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015), Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 (HASWA 1974), Work at Heights Regulations 2005, Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER 1998), Health and Safety Executive’s guidance HSG65 (Successful Health & Safety Management), ISO 45001 for Health & Safety Management Systems, The Construction (Health, Safety & Welfare) Regulations 1996, and the British Standard BS 6187:2011 Code of Practice for full and partial demolition.
By following these regulations and standards, we ensure the well-being and safety of our workforce and the broader community.
To help us achieve the highest standards we only invest in the best staff, training and plant. Our culture dictates that we always do the best job we can for the client and the environment.
Fire Planning
Our comprehensive fire planning at Lawson Group encompasses several key components to ensure the utmost safety. A dedicated responsible person will conduct regular Fire Risk Assessments throughout the entirety of our projects, guaranteeing a vigilant and proactive approach to fire safety.
Fire Assembly points will be prominently marked, serving as readily identifiable gathering spots in case of an emergency. Additionally, means of escape will be clearly delineated through strategically placed signage and will be thoroughly explained during site inductions.
To bolster safety measures, our site will feature two distinct fire exit points in addition to the main entrance, offering multiple avenues for evacuation. Regular fire drills will be carried out to ensure that our team is well-prepared in case of an emergency.
Furthermore, we will maintain a presence of suitable fire equipment at designated fire points throughout the site, ensuring quick access to essential tools for fire safety. To minimize risks associated with hot works, all such activities will conclude at least 2 hours before the end of each working day, further emphasizing our unwavering commitment to a secure work environment.
